107 Apopka/Wekiva Seniors named OCPS “Super Scholars” in Class of 2026
A total of 107 seniors from Wekiva High School and Apopka High School have been named “Super Scholars” by Orange County Public Schools. The recognition places them among more than 1,200 top-performing students across the district, earning admission to the nation’s most selective colleges and service academies.

The Apopka High School Blue Darter Marching Band and the Wekiva High School Marching Mustangs spent the holidays representing Apopka on two of the world’s most prestigious parade stages. Wekiva High Culinary wins Rachael Ray Foundation grant to launch student-run mobile ice cream business
Wekiva High School’s Magnet Academy of Culinary Arts has been awarded a $5,000 grant from The Rachael Ray Foundation and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to expand its culinary and restaurant management program. The funding will be used to launch a student-run mobile ice cream business, giving students real-world experience in entrepreneurship and food service.

The Geode Sundae: Bruleed bananas with scoops of black sesame, ube, and coffee chocolate ice cream, with bada bing cherry coulis and red miso caramel. Finished with almond white chocolate drizzle, candied coconut, and a cloud of spiced cream was a winner for the Wekiva High Culinary Team.
