Breaking News: OCPS closes schools for Wednesday and Thursday

The Orange County Public School District released the following statement on their Facebook page this afternoon:
"OCPS is continuing to monitor and track Hurricane Milton. Based on the latest forecast, all after-school activities are canceled tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th, except after-school care, which will end by 6 p.m.
All schools and district offices will be closed on Wednesday, October 9th and Thursday, October 10th.
The closure is due to the projected impacts of the hurricane in Orange County and some schools will be used as shelters. We will continue to update you as we receive additional information. School opening Friday will be determined based on the impact of the storm.
Throughout the storm the district will send messages to OCPS families by phone, email and text, as well as updates on district social media pages and on ocps.net regarding school operations."
