Patmos Chapel Seventh-day Adventist Church's Kids at the Well summer camp has doubled in size this year, drawing more than 160 children from 17 communities across Central Florida. Organizers say the expanded program combines STEAM education, athletics, leadership development, and Christian values to prepare students for success both in and out of the classroom.
This free family-friendly event is designed to create positive interactions between youth and community leaders while encouraging healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, and meaningful engagement.
The Apopka Historical Society is honoring Black History Month by featuring community advocate and artist Linda Lee on its “Tater Talk” podcast. Lee’s work preserves the stories of Lake Apopka farmworkers affected by decades of pesticide exposure and environmental injustice.
