OCPS celebrates AP achievement record-breaking year
More than 5,600 students earn AP Scholar Awards as district sees largest year-over-year growth in history

OCPS is thrilled to announce a historic milestone in Advanced Placement achievement across its 23 high schools. An unprecedented 5,640 students earned the prestigious AP Scholar Award. At 799 more than in 2024, it marks the district’s largest year-over-year growth to date.
The district also celebrated a significant rise in AP Capstone honors, with 352 students earning an AP Capstone Diploma or AP Seminar and Research Certificate in 2025, an impressive 192 more than the previous year. These achievements highlight the growing success of the district’s rigorous, college-level coursework offerings.

This record-breaking success reflects the hard work of our entire school community and our district’s unwavering commitment to making rigorous, high-quality learning opportunities available to all students.”

- AP Scholar: Scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
- AP Scholar with Honor: Average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams.
- AP Scholar with Distinction: Average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
- AP Capstone Diploma: Scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research, plus four additional AP Exams.
- AP Seminar and Research Certificate: Scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
