The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has released school and district grades for the 2024–25 academic year, and Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) once again earned an overall “A” rating—its second consecutive year achieving the top mark.
According to the FDOE, OCPS either maintained or improved in 11 of the 12 state accountability components, reflecting gains in student achievement, learning gains, graduation rates, and college and career acceleration. These results highlight continued academic growth and system-wide momentum in one of Florida’s largest and most diverse school districts.
A standout detail from the report: 96 traditional (non-charter, non-alternative) schools within OCPS earned an “A” grade, up from 88 the year before. Additionally, 76 percent of traditional schools received either an “A” or “B” grade—an increase from 69 percent last year. Notably, no traditional OCPS schools received a grade of “D” or “F.”
“I’m incredibly proud of our students, staff, and families,” said Superintendent Maria Vazquez. “Our commitment to the science of reading and data-driven decisions has strengthened literacy and boosted graduation rates. These gains reflect the collective dedication of our OCPS team—well done!”
District officials point to a strategic focus on early literacy, targeted interventions, and evidence-based teaching practices as key drivers behind the improvement. As OCPS continues to prioritize student achievement and continuous improvement, these latest results affirm the district’s direction and community-wide support.
