Wekiva High culinary students team up with Central Florida chefs for one-night dining experience

Fifty student chefs will collaborate with 10 top regional chefs on March 3rd in an immersive tasting event benefiting Wekiva’s Culinary Arts Magnet program

Wekiva High School will host a special culinary showcase on Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 8 pm, featuring 50 student chefs working alongside 10 of Central Florida’s top culinary professionals. Guests will enjoy a multi-course tasting menu, live cooking demonstrations, and specialty beverages in a high-energy, collaborative atmosphere. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Wekiva High School Magnet Academy of Culinary Arts, with food and supplies donated by community partners.

The future of culinary arts will be on full display as 50 of Central Florida’s most promising culinary students join forces with 10 of the region’s top chefs for an immersive, one-night-only dining experience.

The multi-course menu includes, but is not limited to:

  • World-class drinks – Toasted sugar & charred lemon oolong tea, strawberry & black pepper tomato water infusion, and brown butter, honey & orange peel rice milk.
  • Tasting plates – Shrimp & grits, roasted salmon, mole-spiced lamb chops, key lime mojo pork belly, and more!
  • Sweet endings – White chocolate mousse cake, sweet-and-salty brownie, and strawberry-and-crème profiterole are among the tasting options.

This memorable event offers a rare opportunity to witness rising stars at the beginning of their careers before their names appear on the region’s top restaurant marquees.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community partners from Gordon Foods, Freshpoint, the Walt Disney Company, The Monroe, and the Chef’s Table in Winter Garden, to name a few. Through their generosity, all the raw materials and food supplies were donated, so that all proceeds from the event directly support the students of the Wekiva High School Magnet Academy of Culinary Arts.
