A standoff between deputies of the Orange County Sheriff's Office and a 15-year-old male suspect that lasted several hours on Thursday afternoon ended when the suspect surrendered.

At around 3:30 PM, OCSO detectives attempted to serve a Juvenile Custody Order at a home on Stuart Street in Apopka. Detectives made contact with the mother of the suspect, who stated her son was in the house sleeping.

The suspect was allegedly involved in a home invasion robbery with a firearm which occurred on April 7th at the Rock Springs Mobile Home Park in Apopka.

Detectives blocked the area and evacuated several homes for safety reasons, as they had received credible information that the suspects who resided in the area also had weapons hidden inside the home. After several hours, the suspect made contact with detectives and surrendered himself.

During the investigation, two other suspects were located in the area and were secured and interviewed regarding the home invasion.

Searching the homes of the suspects, OCSO detectives collected four firearms. It was confirmed that one of the guns was reported stolen on April 25th, 2012 from the Belle Isle area.

OCSO detectives have arrested three of the five suspects involved in the home invasion that occurred on April 7th. All three suspects arrested are minors, and it is the policy of The Apopka Voice not to publish the names of juveniles that are victims of crimes, or arrested and charged with crimes.

The investigation is still ongoing for the other two suspects at large.
