Developing Story: Man found with fatal injuries in South Apopka; OCSO investigating as homicide

A man with apparent signs of trauma was discovered early Sunday morning in South Apopka and later died from his injuries, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to a report of a person down near the intersection of East Ella J. Gilmore Street and Clarcona Road. Upon arrival, they located a man believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20 with visible injuries indicative of a violent encounter. The man was unresponsive at the scene.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The OCSO did not release the identity of the man, and investigators have not released the cause of death. No suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is treating the case as a homicide and said the investigation is in its early stages. No additional details have been released at this time.
