Happy Halloween, Apopka!

Posted

As shadows deepen and excitement takes hold, Halloween emerges tonight in Apopka neighborhoods as a thrilling celebration where little ghosts, goblins, and ghouls come to life, inviting everyone to embrace the spooky spirit through costumes, haunted houses, and a sugar rush of candy.

Happy Halloween, Apopka!

The City of Apopka, in conjunction with the Apopka Fire and Police Departments, released tips on how to stay safe on Halloween:

The City of Apopka would like to wish you and your family a safe Halloween. We hope you will review and discuss these safety tips from the Apopka Fire and Apopka Police Department!

Tips for Trick-or-Treaters:

  • Plan costumes that are bright and reflective. Consider adding reflective tape to costumes and treat bags for greater visibility.
  • Ensure that costumes fit properly and do not limit or block eyesight. When shopping for costumes and accessories, purchase those with a label indicating they are flame-resistant.
  • Have a responsible adult accompany children on the trick-or-treat trail. An adult should plan and review an acceptable route if older children go alone.
  • Only go to homes with porch lights on and never enter a house or car for a treat.
  • Remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk. Never cut across yards or use alleyways. Only cross the street as a group in established crosswalk areas.
  • Put cell phones away. Keep your head up and walk. Do not run across the street.
  • Don’t accept, and especially don’t eat, anything that isn’t commercially wrapped.

Be sure to follow the Apopka Fire Department and Apopka Police Department on Facebook & Instagram for more safety tips throughout the year.
