Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on State Road 429 north of CR-437 (Plymouth Sorrento Rd).

According to the FHP statement, the pedestrian died at the scene and was possibly struck by more than one vehicle.    All southbound lanes were closed while investigators processed the scene. No other details were available at that time.

The FHP ultimately turned the crash scene over to the Apopka Police Department after it was determined to be in its jurisdiction.

All vehicles/drivers stopped and remained on the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation pending confirmation of the victim’s identity and notification of next of kin."

Neither the APD nor the FHP released the name of the deceased pedestrian or the drivers involved in the collision.

I saw my comment and it threw me off when I said it happened on Christmas Day, but then that comment I posted was from Dec. 25, 2022....? I am so sorry yet another person has been killed on this roadway. It's terrible, just terrible. RIP. I would hate to be the person to have to notify your family of the horrible news.
