Welcomes J. Raymond Construction as house sponsor
Habitat for Humanity of Seminole County & Greater Apopka is pleased to welcome J. Raymond Construction as a house sponsor for its Magnolia Place project in Longwood, FL. President John Sofarelli, Sr., signing the agreement for their sponsorship with the affiliate said: “We are excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity and give back to our community as a company”.
The Magnolia Place project is a part of Habitat’s larger effort to eradicate poverty housing in the Seminole County and Greater Apopka area by stabilizing at-risk neighborhoods through affordable homeownership, home repair, and weatherization opportunities to low-income residents. The current structure has been left abandoned since 2008 with an empty adjacent lot where the second phase of the project will take place. Habitat seeks to transform the neighborhood by completing the abandoned, blighted structures and will work with the City of Longwood to improve a local park near the development. Located within a few blocks from the SunRail Station, the project increases employment opportunities for the families. The first six units were completed in fall, 2016 and the remaining four are under construction, to be completed by June 2017.

“J. Raymond Construction has supported us in a variety of ways for several years,” says Penny Seater, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Seminole-Apopka. “We are excited to add them now as a house sponsor as well.”
In addition to providing the funding for one of the townhomes, J. Raymond Construction employees will regularly volunteer their time on the construction site, logging in more than 200 hours of time.
