Good morning, Apopka — Election Day 2026 has arrived!
After nearly a yearlong election cycle, Apopka voters will head to the polls today to decide several key races that will shape the city’s leadership for the coming years.
The road to today’s vote began in April 2025 when the first candidate entered the race. In the months that followed, the field expanded to 10 candidates competing across four contests: the race for mayor, City Commission Seat 1, City Commission Seat 2, and a special election for City Commission Seat 4.
Over the course of the campaign season, candidates participated in debates, community forums, and public events across the city. They discussed issues ranging from infrastructure and growth to city finances, leadership, and the direction of Apopka’s government. The months leading up to Election Day have given voters opportunities to hear directly from the candidates and compare their visions for the city’s future.
Before the polls even opened today, thousands of voters had already made their choices. According to data from the Orange County Supervisor of Elections, more than 5,100 Apopka residents cast ballots during early voting or by mail.
That number represents a significant portion of the city’s electorate, but hundreds more are likely to participate throughout the day as two polling places open across the city.
Polls open at 7 am and will remain open until 7 pm. Registered voters must vote at their designated precinct and should bring a valid photo ID with a signature.
Throughout the day, The Apopka Voice will provide comprehensive coverage of the election as it unfolds. The coverage will begin when polling sites open in the morning and continue throughout the day with updates if developments occur.
The Apopka Voice will publish the results as they come in, sometime after 7 pm, after they are posted by the SOE.
So pour a cup of coffee, follow along throughout the day, and if you haven’t voted yet, make sure to visit your designated polling place and have your voice heard.
