Having breakfast is a great opportunity for connection, and I think that's where the community part comes into play with Eggs Up Grill," said Kate Giordano, owner of Eggs Up Grill.
Tucked away at 502 South Hunt Club Boulevard, Eggs Up Grill embodies community, conversation, and a great start to your day. The establishment welcomes its customers with a warm smile and neighborly attitude while serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and catering.
Opened a year and a half ago, this location was the first addition to Giordano and her husband Geoff's Eggs Up Grill franchises serving the Central Florida area.
"The positioning of this brand is neighbors serving neighbors," said Giordano. "And I think it's the idea that we're here to help our neighbors and our community. It's about connection!"
Building from her 25 year career in branding and advertising and her husband's career in high-end restaurants, the couple knew they wanted something that was welcoming and family-oriented. On any given day, Giordano and her family can be seen putting in work alongside their employees, bussing tables, and seating customers.
"Our nine-year-old loves to help host," Giordano shared. "She'll work with the host staff, loves to seat people and wish them a good breakfast, and our ten-year-old, against his at-home personality, absolutely loves to clear the tables."
In the Hunt Club Apopka area, there has been a glaring need for a solid breakfast spot, and the Giordanos saw an opportunity to fill the gap and create a place where the community can gather over a hearty meal. Though the location is up the hill and somewhat out of view, they hope to spread the word about their establishment and widen the reach of who they serve.
"When we looked into Apopka, we did hear from a lot of people that they were missing a new breakfast spot," said Giordano. "And when we got to know the ins and outs of Apopka, it felt very much like a community that would really vibe with an environment like this."
It's one thing to recognize a need for a business in a specific area, but the Giordanos have already done so much more to integrate themselves into Apopka. From hosting Heads Up with Eggs Up, where "people who work in business can talk with one another and share best practices," to their Good Eggs initiative, where local stars are nominated for their service to the community, Eggs Up Grill dedicates itself to not just being a diner but a place where locals can gather and grow as a community.
"I can do social media for this brand. That's a lot of the role I play, but really, this is the rubber hitting the road," said Giordano when discussing her involvement in terms of really getting to know the people.
With initiatives like Heads Up with Eggs Up and the Read Around the City program, the Giordanos are ensuring that Eggs Up Grill is a true cornerstone of the Apopka community—offering more than just a meal, but a place where connections, collaborations, and local support thrive.
Though the community focus is truly remarkable, it's the food that will keep locals coming in again and again. Eggs Up Grill serves in a fresh, clean environment, which, unfortunately, not all diners have; it offers quality classics and some items with a twist.
A true highlight of their menu is the creation of one of their staff members - the caramel apple cider mimosa. A blend of sweet and tart, it's an easy comfort drink for brunch with the ladies or a solo breakfast run.
Eggs Up Grill and the Giordanos embody what it means to be truly community-focused. Their commitment to connecting with Apopka through both their food and initiatives shows how a local business can become an integral part of the fabric of a town.
