Apopka police are investigating a commercial burglary reported last week on Marden Road.
According to the Apopka Police Department's weekly burglary report, one commercial burglary was reported between July 5 and July 11. The incident occurred in the 1260-1269 block of Marden Road and was reported to police on July 9.

The department did not release additional information about the business involved, the items reported stolen, or whether any arrests have been made.
Apopka police note that burglary reports are preliminary and may change as investigations continue.

Here are a few tips to protect against home burglaries:
- Make your home look occupied, and make it difficult to break in.
- Lock all outside doors and windows before leaving or going to bed.
- Keep your garage door closed and locked.
- Don't allow daily deliveries of mail, newspapers, or flyers to build up while you are away. Arrange with the Post Office to hold your mail, or arrange for a friend or neighbor to take them regularly.
- Arrange your lawn to be mowed if you are going away for an extended time.
- Check your locks on doors and windows and replace them with secure devices as necessary.
- Pushbutton locks on doorknobs are easy for burglars to open. Install deadbolt locks on all your outside doors.
- Sliding glass doors are vulnerable. Special locks are available for better security.
- Other windows may need better locks. Check with a locksmith or hardware store for alternatives.
- Don't share your vacation plans on social media.
The Apopka Police Department tells us that many vehicle burglaries could have been prevented if everyone remembered to do just two things:
- Remove all valuables from your vehicle
- Lock your car doors
