The Apopka Voice will host a live virtual town hall with former Congressman Alan Grayson on Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. Grayson, a three-term US Representative, is now seeking to serve in the Florida Legislature, running in the Florida State Senate District 15 special election.
The virtual event, streamed live on The Apopka Voice's YouTube channel, will provide voters an opportunity to hear directly from the candidate, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of his platform and legislative priorities.
The Apopka Voice is hosting virtual town halls to connect the public with candidates and elected officials in real-time, thereby fostering a more informed and engaged electorate.
"We believe journalism should go beyond reporting - it should facilitate conversations that matter," said Reggie Connell, Managing Editor of The Apopka Voice. "This town hall with Alan Grayson is an opportunity for voters to hear unfiltered answers about the issues that affect them most — from education and housing to healthcare and the environment."
Grayson previously served as the Representative for Florida's 9th District from 2013–2017, and the 8th District from 2009–2011. He is known for his outspoken style and focus on economic and social justice issues. His bid for state senate marks an entry into state-level politics and a continuation of his decades-long involvement in public policy.
