APD Arrest Report: Police record 36 arrests from July 19-25

Weekly activity also included 1,793 calls for service, 71 citations and six crashes

The Apopka Police Department reported 36 arrests during the week of July 19 through July 25. The arrests included allegations of burglary, battery, assault, theft, driving under the influence, trespassing, criminal mischief, traffic offenses, and outstanding warrants. APD officers also responded to 1,793 calls for service, issued 71 citations and investigated six crashes during the reporting period.

Among the more serious allegations, two people were charged with burglary with assault or battery. One of those individuals also faced charges of battery and criminal mischief involving alleged property damage of $1,000 or more.

Another person was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and grand theft involving property valued between $750 and $5,000.

Battery was among the most frequently reported allegations, with 11 people arrested on charges of touching or striking another person.

Two people were arrested on simple assault allegations involving threats of violence.

The report also included two DUI arrests. One person was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, refusing to submit to DUI testing and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. A second person was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Several other arrests involved alleged theft offenses, including grand theft, petit theft and another theft charge.

Additional charges listed in the report included trespassing, resisting an officer without violence, violating a no-contact order and criminal mischief involving alleged property damage between $200 and $1,000.

Police also made arrests for driving with a suspended or revoked license and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Eight people were listed in connection with out-of-county, other-agency or outstanding warrants. One individual was listed on three separate out-of-county warrants.

An arrest is not a finding of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
