You may know Dracula, but do you know the real Professor Van Helsing?
The Apopka High School Drama Department gives an outstanding adaptation of Nosferatu: The Legend of Dracula. The time period is set at the end of the 19th Century. The highly adaptable set allowed the actors to bring to life this classic tale of the modern day monster, Count Dracula.
The play takes you seamlessly from the depths of Castle Dracula in Transylvania, to the rough seas on board the Schooner Demeter and through the twisted maze of Seward's Asylum, ~ all in search of the illusive Count Dracula. The period costumes were spot-on and there were many brilliant moments of shadow play. The creative horror makeup completed the strong visuals.
David Gomez performs a powerfully dark and sinister Count Dracula. September Porras and Imani Thomas deliver awesome "girl power" performances in the female leads. Tatyanna Santini's character is 
completely oblivious to the dangers that surround her. Her comedic timing was flawless in delivering some of the funniest moments in the play.
Austin Bade and Hakeem Kureshi give strong character performances in their roles. Max Kelly's performance is brilliant as a tortured and demented inmate at the Seward's Asylum.
Bravo to Ms. Erin Miner and her very talented cast!
This isn't a 20th century vampire love story. It's a fantastic play that remains loyal and true to Bram Stoker's thematic core, the power of good over evil. This play is brilliantly performed by Apopka's best, don't miss it.
