Women's soccer great coming to Apopka

Sprouts Farmers Market is pleased to announce that world-renowned soccer player Brandi Chastain will be taking part in a customer appreciation event, thanks to Visa, a complement to Sprouts’ long-term commitment to and investment in women’s athletics and promoting health and nutrition.

A unique customer appreciation event will be held on November 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Apopka store at 2283 E Semoran Blvd in Apopka. Customers are invited to a meet and greet with Chastain and will have an opportunity to play the “one-trip challenge” game to win a variety of prizes.

“I am thrilled to collaborate with Sprouts and Visa to celebrate healthy eating and women’s sports, specifically my all-time favorite, soccer,” said Chastain. “It goes without saying that a healthy body cannot achieve its utmost potential if it doesn’t have the right fuel to make it go. In addition to hosting fun games in-store, Chastain will be selecting her favorite items to make a special healthy trail mix using a variety of ingredients from Sprouts’ famous bulk bins. Samples of the trail mix will be available for customers to enjoy.

Brandi Chastain is a retired American soccer player. A multi-tournament winner, Brandi played for the U.S. Women’s National Team from 1988 to 2004. In her 192 caps for the USA, Chastain scored 30 goals while playing forward early in her career and defender for the majority of her caps. She scored the iconic, game-winning penalty kick against China in the 1999 Final. Chastain was named to the USWNT All-Time Best XI in 2013. In March 2017, she was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. A California native, she was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
