Updated information from The Florida Highway Patrol
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run fatality last night on Hiawassee Road and Laurel Hill Drive around 8:20PM. Today they have released the names of the two drivers and the victim.
The crash occurred when a 2013 Ford pickup truck traveling northbound on Hiawassee and driven by Anthony Fulse, 54 or Orlando struck Michael Ginsler, 64 of Orlando, who was attempting to cross Hiawassee Road. Fulse pulled over and stayed on scene. After Ginsler was struck he came to final rest in the southbound lanes, where a 2006 Nissan Altima driven by Cherene Sylvester, 42 of Orlando, traveling southbound also hit Ginsler. Sylvester also pulled off the road and stayed on the scene until Troopers arrived. Sylvester observed several other southbound vehicles run over Ginsler, but none stopped.
The FHP is asking anyone that was traveling southbound on Hiawassee to contact FHP at 407-737-2213, if they think they may have run over the victim. Anyone with information about any vehicles that left the scene are asked to call the FHP or Crimeline. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
