Updating Breaking News: Two trucks in unrelated incidents two hours apart overturn in Pasco County, spilling sand and garbage on the roadways

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to two incidents of trucks overturning and spilling their loads this morning and afternoon in Pasco County.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:07 am, a tractor-trailer transporting garbage, driven by a 48-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75. 

The truck exited onto State Road 52, failed to negotiate a turn, and overturned. 

The driver suffered minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital.

Then, at approximately 12:35 PM, a tractor-trailer transporting sand, driven by a 61-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound on Mango Road. 

The truck turned left onto the entrance ramp to westbound Interstate 4. The driver failed to negotiate the turn, overturned, and spilled its load upon the roadway. 

The driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The FHP did not release the names of the two drivers involved in the incidents.
