Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Apopka this afternoon that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:53 pm an 18-year-old Apopka man riding a 2017 Husqvarna motorcycle was traveling northbound in the driveway of a private residence located on Sandpiper Street, east of Ustler Road.
For unknown reasons, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, which caused him to be thrown off and critically injured. The rider was transported to Advent health Apopka and later pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the rider.
