Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this afternoon in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:25 PM, a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 23-year-old Wesley Chapel man, was traveling northbound on Wesley Chapel Boulevard at a high rate of speed.
Near Progress Parkway, the rider lost control, departed the roadway, struck a street sign and a light pole, and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
