Updating Breaking News: Inverness woman dies after a single-vehicle collision in Citrus County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Citrus County that resulted in the death of the driver.

According to the FHP report, on April 18, at approximately 6:00 PM, a Chevy Cobalt, driven by a 67-year-old Inverness woman, was traveling northbound on County Road 491. 

South of Triple M Ranch Road, the driver lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. 

The vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a tree. The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.  The crash scene was located on April 26th at 3:00 PM. 

The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the crash.
