Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle-collision in Citrus County yesterday that resulted in the driver suffering injuries from the crash.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:55 PM, a Chevy Camaro, driven by a 69-year-old Beverly Hills man, was traveling southbound on North Forest Ridge Boulevard.
North of West Casurina Place, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, entered the grass median, and struck a tree. The vehicle continued, rotating onto a sidewalk until finally colliding with a pedestrian handrail.
The impaired driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the crash.
