Florida Highway Patrol investigators are expanding their search for vehicles connected to Monday night’s fatal hit-and-run crash in Apopka, identifying multiple vehicles of interest as the investigation intensifies.

Troopers now say investigators are searching for four vehicles that may have information related to the crash that killed a 46-year-old Apopka man near Marvin C. Zanders Avenue and West 17th Street late Monday night.

According to an updated release from FHP, investigators are looking for a dark gray, possibly 2024-2025 Kia K5, a white Honda Civic, a dark gray Kia Soul, and a semi tractor-trailer that may have been in the area at the time of the collision.

Authorities also released additional information identifying the white Honda Civic as a vehicle of interest connected to the case.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:26 pm Monday near the intersection of Marvin C. Zanders Avenue and West 17th Street.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unidentified southbound vehicle struck the pedestrian, who investigators previously said may have been lying in the southbound travel lane north of the intersection. The driver continued southbound and left the scene following the collision.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators have not publicly identified the primary vehicle involved in the fatal impact, and it remains unclear whether the newly identified vehicles witnessed the crash, were directly involved, or may possess information valuable to the investigation.

The expanding search suggests investigators are continuing to piece together the sequence of events surrounding the deadly collision as they work to identify the driver responsible.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit.
