A father and son with ties to Apopka were arrested by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Thursday for allegedly participating in the January 6th riot at the US Capitol in Washington DC.
Kevin Tuck, 51, and Nathaniel Tuck, 29, were charged with obstructing an official proceeding, aiding and abetting, entering restricted grounds, disorderly conduct inside the Capitol building, and parading or picketing inside an official building. Kevin Tuck was also charged with entering and remaining in the gallery of Congress, while Nathaniel Tuck was also charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer.
According to a sunbiz.org search, Kevin Tuck is the senior pastor and president of The Lighthouse Church of Central Florida in Apopka.
According to a release from the Apopka Police Department, Nathaniel Tuck was employed by the APD as a full-time police officer from March 19, 2018 to August 22, 2020. He resigned from the APD as a full-time police officer, but remained a reserve officer from August 22, 2020 to September 18, 2020.
Tuck was not employed by the Apopka Police Department at the time of the January 6th incident that led to his arrest. The APD became aware of the FBI’s investigation of Tuck and cooperated with their investigation, according to the statement.
