Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Pasco County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:24 AM, a Chevy Suburban, driven by a 64-year-old Hudson man, was traveling northbound on Shady Hills Road.
At the same time, a tractor-trailer, driven by a 49-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling southbound on Shady Hills Road.
As they approached, the Suburban driver failed to negotiate a curve near Crela Drive, causing the vehicle to enter the southbound lanes and collide nearly head-on with the tractor-trailer.
After the collision, both vehicles came to rest in the travel lanes, with the first driver suffering fatal injuries at the crash scene.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
