From the Wekiva Parkway:
CR 435 AND SR 429 ROAD CLOSURES, DETOUR SET FOR BRIDGE WORK AS PART OF WEKIVA PARKWAY CONSTRUCTION
Crews are scheduled Friday Night, November 3rd, to close County Road 435 at State Road 429. This closure also will include the southbound ramp of SR 429 starting at SR 46. The closures and detours are scheduled from 11 p.m. – 6 a.m. to allow crews to set bridge beams as part of building the Wekiva Parkway (SR 429).
During the closure, through traffic will be detoured to SR 46, Plymouth Sorrento Road and Haas Road. Local access to CR 435 north of SR 429 will remain available. Access to northbound SR 429 will remain open during this operation.
Officers will be present and electronic message boards are posted to alert drivers. Bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area for their safety and that of the work crews.
The Central Florida Expressway Authority began construction August 1, 2016 on Wekiva Parkway Section 2A. This section is located north of Haas Road between Plymouth Sorrento Road and County Road 435 (Mount Plymouth Road). Work is scheduled to finish by spring of 2018.
This project is among five parkway sections being built by CFX, totaling 10 miles and more than $271 million in construction costs. Once completed, the 25-mile parkway will complete Central Florida’s beltway, while helping to protect the natural resources surrounding the Wekiva River.
