From the City of Apopka
Motorists in Apopka should be aware of ongoing nightly closures on State Road 429, which will end by Wednesday, July 2. These closures are part of critical maintenance and construction projects to improve safety and infrastructure along this busy corridor.
The southbound SR 429 ramp to West Road (Exit 26) has been closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews complete road work. During the closure, drivers are detoured to Plant Street (Exit 24) to access West Road.

Also impacted is Ocoee Apopka Road under SR 429, which has been closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for necessary bridge work. Northbound traffic is rerouted to Harmon Road, while southbound traffic uses South Binion Road.
In addition, the southbound cash lanes at the SR 429 Forest Lake Main Plaza have been closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead sign installation. During this time, drivers are funneled through the E-PASS lanes without penalty.
Motorists are urged to plan, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution in these active work zones. The Central Florida Expressway Authority advises drivers to reduce speed, avoid distractions, and follow posted detours for everyone’s safety. Weather or unforeseen circumstances could cause minor delays. Still, all closures are expected to conclude by July 2.
