On every kid's wish list?
The toy company- Spin Master has created this holiday season’s hottest new toy. It’s called Hatchimals; it’s an interactive, furry creature that hatches out of an egg and grows instantly. Colors of the spotted eggs include pink, green, teal, and purple and the toy retails for $59.99.
Brought to market in October, the company didn’t anticipate the popularity of the new toy. Inventory in stores and online has sold quickly. With the surge of parents wanting to make sure they buy this new toy on their child’s Christmas list, inflated cost of the toy can be found at resellers online. Due to the overwhelming response to the product, Hatchimals posted the following message on their website.
“The consumer response to Hatchimals has been extraordinary, exceeding all expectations. This is a special season and we don’t want anyone to be disappointed, nor do we support inflated prices from non-authorized resellers. While additional products will hit retail shelves in December, we anticipate this inventory will also sell out quickly. We have increased production and a whole new batch of Hatchimals will be ready to hatch in early 2017. In the meantime, we have created an online resource center at Hatchimals.com/NorthPole to help kids and their parents during the wait. We are also partnering with some of our retailers to develop pre-sale and/or rain-check programs for redemption in January. We will continue to update with program details as they become available.”
A website called Stock Informer makes the hunt for the colorful, spotted egg toy easier to locate. It lists all of locations and prices for the toy and if the store has Hatchimals in stock. Hatchimals can be found at Target, Wal-Mart, Toy R Us, K-Mart, and Amazon.
Target announced on their website that more inventory will be stocked on December 11th.
“Starting this Sunday, Dec. 11, Target stores across the country will begin to receive dozens of Hatchimals ($59.99), with inventory popping up throughout the week. You’ll need to be quick to scoop these up (limit two per guest) while supplies last, so be sure to check your local store.”
Target has also released new Hatchimals themed gift cards but want to let shoppers know by purchasing one of these gift cards, it does not reserve a Hatchimal but can be used toward the purchase of a Hatchimal once the stock is replenished.
Recommended age for the toy is from 3-11. Find more information about the Hatchimals on their website.
