Summer Olympics Medal Count Update

Here are the 2016 Summer Olympic Medal count after Day 2.
Fourteen events awarded medals on Day 2 with Team USA capturing five. Katie Ledecky won Gold in the 400m freestyle and broke her own Olympic record in the process. The US men's 4x100m relay team also won Gold. This was Michael Phelps' 19th Olympic gold medal and his 23rd overall medal.
Team USA in on top of the Medal Count scoreboard with 8 medals followed by China and Italy with 7 each.
