As the region’s largest emergency food provider, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida knows that every action makes a difference – and this September, during Hunger Action Month, the food bank is calling on members of the community to take at least one action to help fight hunger.

Hunger Action Month, observed every September, reminds us that no single action is enough. When advocates, volunteers, donors, and community partners each play their part, those efforts connect into something larger that helps strengthen our community. As the cost of essentials like groceries and energy continues to pressure household budgets, community members can take action to help ensure their neighbors have access to the food they need to thrive.

“Having enough food should never be something a family has to question – yet for too many of our neighbors, it has become a daily concern,” said Derrick Chubbs, President and CEO at Second Harvest. “This Hunger Action Month, we're asking everyone to show up for their neighbors facing hunger and play their part. Whether you give, volunteer, speak up or support your community in another way, your action matters.  When neighbors care for neighbors, we strengthen our communities."
