All proceeds from the Children's Miracle Network campaign will stay local
Walmart and Sam’s Club share a basic belief - that every child deserves the chance to live better. That's why, since 1987, Walmart and Sam's Club have partnered with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to raise funds for local, nonprofit children's hospitals.
"All of the funds raised in Apopka will go to the Arnold and Winnie Palmer Hospitals," said Apopka Sam's Club spokesman James Turberg. "All the money raised is staying local."
In 1987, the man affectionately known to the CMN Hospitals team as “Mr. Sam,” Sam Walton, committed his company and its resources to raising money for children’s hospitals with the promise that “the associates will amaze you.”
As part of their fundraising efforts each year, Walmart & Sam's Club locations host a six-week balloon icon campaign for the kids.
The Apopka Sam's Club has planned several special events.
"We are doing Cookouts each weekend. On the 17th of September we will have a Dunk Tank. And on the Friday the 30th we will be doing an Associates Garage sale. This is where the Sam's Club associates donate items for a garage sale set up outside the club," said Turberg. "Again, all proceeds go to the Children's Miracle Network and stay local."
This year, the campaign will be held from August 29 through October 9. Customers and members have the option to donate $1, $2 or $5 at the register - or any amount no matter how large or small - to help make miracles happen for local kids.
Together, Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members are ensuring that millions of children in communities across the U.S. continue to receive the world-class treatment they need to live better. So when you are shopping with any of our Walmart & Sam's Club locations during their balloon campaign, be sure to make a donation to help kids right here in Central Florida!
And they couldn’t do it with the generosity of the millions of customers who shop in their stores and clubs every week. Together, Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members are ensuring that millions of children in communities across the U.S. continue to receive the world-class treatment they need to live better.
