Orange Technical College (OTC), in partnership with the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, announced a $110,000 donation from the Advance Auto Parts Foundation to support training opportunities and student success in OTC’s automotive and diesel technology programs.

The donation will provide a combination of financial support for industry-recognized testing, tools, and instructional resources to help prepare students for high-demand careers in the automotive field. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 70,000 openings for automotive service technicians and mechanics are projected each year through 2034.

“This donation from the Advance Auto Parts Foundation will strengthen our ability to deliver hands-on, career-focused training that leads directly to workforce opportunities,” said Senior Director Josue Raymond, OTC South Campus. “Through the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, we can expand access to industry certifications and provide the tools students need to succeed from day one on the job. We are grateful for Advance’s investment in our students and the future of the automotive workforce.”

The Advance Auto Parts Foundation contribution includes:

  • $55,000 to help students cover the cost of Automotive Service Excellence exams as they progress toward Master Technician status.

  • About $50,000 in professional-grade tool sets, including rolling tool chests equipped with more than 600 tools, will be awarded as student incentives and recognition, as well as specialized awards for graduating students.

  • $5,000 in store credit for tools, supplies, and materials to support hands-on instruction.

“We are proud to partner with Orange Technical College as it prepares the next generation of skilled technicians,” said Todd Davenport, president of the Advance Auto Parts Foundation and senior vice president, real estate and development at Advance. “By supporting programs that drive employment opportunities, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation is helping ensure today's students are equipped to succeed while strengthening the automotive industry.”

This partnership reinforces OTC’s and the Advance Auto Parts Foundation’s commitment to workforce development and mission to prepare students for in-demand careers through hands-on training, industry partnerships, and real-world learning experiences.
