The Animal Rabies Vaccine and Microchipping Your Pet events, commonly known as ARM Your Pet, are designed to help residents keep their pets healthy while ensuring compliance with state vaccination requirements.

The first event, focused on cats, will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 22, at Orange County Animal Services, located at 2769 Conroy Road in Orlando.

The second event, for dogs, will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at Barnett Park, located at 4801 W. Colonial Drive.

At the cat event, services will include a rabies vaccine, which is required by the state of Florida, as well as a combination vaccine that protects against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia. Cats will also receive a microchip, along with free registration of the owner’s information in a national database.

The dog event will offer similar services, including a rabies vaccine and microchip identification with registration. Dogs will also receive a combination vaccine that protects against distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza and parvovirus, as well as a Bordetella vaccine.

Orange County Animal Services officials say the events are part of an ongoing effort to promote responsible pet ownership and improve animal safety across the community.

Microchipping helps reunite lost pets with their owners, while vaccinations protect both animals and residents by preventing the spread of disease.

The events are expected to draw large crowds, and pet owners are encouraged to arrive early. Orange County Animal Services veterinary staff will be on site administering vaccinations and microchips throughout both events.
