Main Street Apopka’s Showcase of Cars draws enthusiastic crowd to historic downtown

Posted

The streets of historic downtown Apopka came alive this past Sunday as Main Street Apopka hosted its highly anticipated Showcase of Cars event on East 5th Street. With 62 classic, vintage, and antique cars on display, car enthusiasts and community members gathered to admire a stunning lineup of automotive history.

Expert judges awarded winners in several categories, including Best of Show, Best Motor, Best Interior, Best Display, and Best Paint, and a secret committee voted for the Fan Favorite. The event provided a vibrant atmosphere where car owners proudly showcased their meticulously restored and preserved vehicles, engaging with spectators and fellow collectors alike.

Main Street Apopka, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing downtown Apopka through  historic preservation, engaging partnerships, and community empowerment, organized the event as part of its mission to foster economic growth and celebrate the city’s rich cultural heritage.

This year’s Showcase of Cars was made possible thanks to the generous support of local businesses, including Cash America, Lucy's Jewelry, Central Florida Tang Soo Do, McDonald's, British Swim School of Northwest Orlando, Keller Training Systems, J's Pest Solutions, Artist Le Desiree Atelier, Sundial Real Estate, We Insure Apopka, and The 2650 Foundation. Their sponsorship underscored a shared commitment to strengthening the local economy and bringing the community together through this exciting event.

“The Showcase of Cars was an incredible success, drawing both locals and visitors to downtown Apopka,” said Caitlin Kasheta from Main Street Apopka. “This event not only celebrates automotive history but also served as a platform for community connection and downtown revitalization.”

As Main Street Apopka continues its efforts to enhance the city's downtown district, events like the Showcase of Cars highlight the growing enthusiasm for preserving Apopka’s unique character while fostering business and tourism opportunities.
