Main Street Apopka "Paints the City Green" for Jalen Carter's Homecoming Super Bowl Celebration

Posted

The city will be glowing with hometown pride this week for Apopka High School Alumni Jalen Carter and his championship performance during Superbowl LIX. To honor Carter, Main Street Apopka is leading the charge to “paint the city green” just days ahead of his Homecoming Super Bowl Celebration.

Through a coordinated effort of volunteers and donations, local downtown businesses are illuminating their windows with green lights throughout the week, symbolizing community pride and excitement leading up to the highly anticipated event.

City Hall has already “gone green,” setting the stage for a Downtown tribute to Apopka’s own football star. With over 30 businesses participating, residents and visitors alike will enjoy this vibrant display of unity and support. These lights will be visible from the front-facing windows of CVS, Chase Bank, Domino’s, Stag Flooring, LC Beauty Bar, Pretty In Pink Tea Room, Downtown Barbers, McLeod Law Firm, Cell Bros, Apopka Beauty & Barber Supply, Mighty Realty, Hick’s House of Seafood, Dat Hoot Smoke Shop, Central Florida Tang Soo Do, Aunt Gingibread’s, SGO Sports, Pity Fitness, Farm City, The Smoke Exchange, Three Odd Guys Brewing, Just Like Momma's Soul Food & Wings, Apopka Bicycle Repair, and more!

The festivities will culminate in a Celebration Block Party on Saturday, March 8th, from 5 PM to 8 PM on East 5th Street (between Park Avenue and Central Avenue) hosted by the City of Apopka. All are invited to gather for an evening of entertainment, community spirit, and recognition of Jalen Carter’s achievements; Carter will be attending, together with his family.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to come together, enjoy the festivities, and honor one of Apopka’s finest. Be sure to wear your green and join the celebration!

Main Street Apopka is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the revitalization of the Historic Downtown Apopka business district through economic vitality, design, promotion, and organization.

Once again Main Street Apopka is taking credit for an event that had little to nothing to do with. This is a City of Apopka event. In addition, The Apopka Voice has decided to write a misleading story without the facts, to promote an organization who is not a a properly registered non-profit 501(c)(3), and is currently operating in contravention of Florida law by not having enough board members.
