Florida Natural Gas Association honors LANGD's Monica Marlow as Marketing Person of the Year
Monica Marlow, Director of Marketing and Business Development for the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District, has been named Florida Natural Gas Association’s (FNGA) Fred Pryor Marketing Person of the Year for 2017. Marlow was officially presented with the award on November 30 at the FNGA Board and Committee Meeting in Panama City, Florida.
For four decades, the FNGA Fred Pryor Marketing Person of the Year award has honored the accomplishments of natural gas marketing professionals who have excelled in encouraging the industry’s growth in Florida. With ten years of experience in marketing and sales for the natural gas industry (in which she has worked for nearly two decades), Marlow was nominated by the Lake Apopka Natural Gas District to receive the FNGA’s highest honor bestowed to marketing individuals.
“Monica’s huge heart and passion for providing natural gas to our customers drove my decision to nominate her for FNGA’s Marketing Person of the Year award,” said Samuel Davis Jr., General Manager and CEO of the District, and a member of FNGA’s board of directors. “She has continued to impress industry leaders through her contributions not only to our business, but to her community as well.”
Marlow joined the District in 2013 and in just two years’ time was promoted to her current director position. Under her leadership, the District’s marketing department has signed nearly two dozen residential developer agreements for subdivisions, with the potential to reach more than 2,000 homes with natural gas service.
Ever-dedicated to promoting the benefits of clean, efficient and economical natural gas, Marlow has been an active member of several industry associations, including the American Public Gas Association and its research foundation, as well as the Florida Municipal Natural Gas Association. Most recently, Marlow was appointed Vice Chair of FNGA’s Marketing and Sales Committee.
Marlow also cares greatly for the betterment of her community, devoting time to organizations throughout Central Florida. She is currently working with Habitat for Humanity of Seminole County, helping the organization fulfill its goal of providing affordable, energy-efficient housing.
Lake Apopka Natural Gas District provides clean, efficient and economical natural gas service to more than 20,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Orange and Lake counties. The District has been honored with the SOAR Silver Award by the American Public Gas Association for excellence in operations.
