Lake Apopka Beauclair Lock temporarily closing

Posted

The St. Johns River Water Management District will temporarily close the Apopka-Beauclair Lock beginning Monday, Dec. 11, to facilitate construction upgrades. This scheduled closure is part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our waterway systems.

During the closure period, access to the Apopka-Beauclair Lock will be restricted to accommodate the necessary construction activities. The District acknowledges the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation in ensuring the successful execution of these improvements.

Construction is anticipated to be completed by Friday, and the lock should be re-opened for normal use on Dec. 16.

For any inquiries or further information regarding this closure, the District urges the public to contact the Lock Tending Project Manager line at 386-643-1160.
