Summer is almost here, and it is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy everything Orange County has to offer — from our beautiful parks and lakes to exciting community events. There are a lot of new experiences being offered by all of our local theme parks, and I encourage you to make time to have a little summer fun at any of them! June is also full of opportunities to connect, including the always-inspiring Juneteenth Celebration, hosted by the Orange County MLK Initiative. Be sure to check out the full list of events in this newsletter.
As we head into hurricane season, it is important to ensure you and your family are prepared. Join us at the Orange County Hurricane Expo on Saturday, June 21, at Evans High School, hosted by our Office of Emergency Management. Arrive early for free emergency supplies (while they last) and meet local experts, including local meteorologist Amy Sweezey.
On June 6, I will deliver the 2025 State of the County address — a moment to reflect on our shared accomplishments and outline the road ahead for Orange County. You can watch it live on Orange TV or follow along on our social media.
This month, we also take time to remember and honor all those impacted by the Pulse tragedy, including the 49 Pulse angels, their families, survivors, and first responders. A special remembrance ceremony will take place on June 12 in Downtown Orlando, hosted by the City of Orlando.
Lastly, with Father’s Day approaching, I want to extend heartfelt thanks to all the dads, caregivers, and mentors who offer love, support, and guidance. Your influence makes a lasting impact. Wishing you a joyful and relaxing Father’s Day!
