Be prepared: Attend the 2017 Orange County Hurricane Expo

Orange County encourages residents to take steps to be prepared for hurricane season. Orange County can help residents prepare for the upcoming storm season during the 2017 Hurricane Expo on June 3 at the Orange County Parks and Recreation Magic Gym at South Econ Community Park, which is located at 3850 South Econlockhatchee Trail. The free, one-day event will offer preparedness information.

Free preparedness items, including weather radios and first aid kits, will be distributed while supplies last. Attendees will learn from emergency response and recovery experts from the Orange County Office of Emergency Management. Representatives will answer questions and provide information on how to survive and deal with floods, high wind damage, and property loss. Participants will also learn how to track storms, pack a disaster kit and prepare an emergency plan for their pets. Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30, 2017.
