How Businesses Can Go Green Without Major Changes

Posted

As scientists predict wildfires are going to become more common as the decades continue, now is the time for homes and businesses to try and go as green as possible to stop the harmful effects of climate change. Aside from recycling and switching to paper straws, here are some easy ways businesses can go green and make a big difference.

Change your bathrooms

In every business, bathrooms are the hub of germs, and the place where customers need to feel the safest. This is the place where businesses can do the most in keeping things green and keeping things clean.

  • Get Automatic Faucets - Automatic faucets keep water waste to a bare minimum. Automatic faucets are also beautiful faucets that will add to the decor of the bathroom. With these types of faucets, water is only used when a person is washing their hands, so only the right amount of water is used. Faucets cannot be left on, and customers cannot use an abundance of water they do not need.
  • Get Automatic Hand Dryers - Automatic hand dryers prevent the overuse of paper towels. We have all been in a bathroom and have seen an overflowing bin of wet paper towels. A lot of the time, paper towels fall on the floor, and they are never used.

Hand dryers save you money and they produce zero waste. That means your bathroom will be super green and clean.

Use cloth napkins

A lot of businesses love to use paper napkins at their tables, but over time, that produces a lot of waste. Not everyone is going to recycle a paper napkin or throw them into a compost heap. When you use cloth napkins in your restaurant or in your business, you can send them out to be cleaned and you can use them over and over again without complications.

This is also another tactic that produces less waste and will keep the Earth just a bit greener.

Use recyclable materials

Whether it’s to-go drinks or to-go food, if you are in a business where customers can carry out a meal, use recyclable to-go containers and cups. A lot of places still use styrofoam for their containers, and styrofoam does not break down in landfills, and will eventually poison the planet.

Using materials that are made of recyclable materials and can then be recycled again, gives customers the opportunity to not create waste by ordering out food. The same goes for to-go cups. Using recyclable materials means that customers can enjoy your food and drink without doing harm to the environment.

Go digital

The constant printing of receipts or menus and using a lot of pens can create a lot of garbage. When you go digital, you won’t have the need for paper, so you will not be producing waste. Offer to email customers receipts, paperwork, or contracts so that paper is not used. If a customer needs a printout, they will have it in their email and they can print it out themselves.
