Hicks Seafood House of Apopka officially opens its doors

After a facelift of the old Chuck's Wagon, the new restaurant begins operation

Posted

It has been a long work in progress, but the grease is officially hot at downtown Apopka’s latest player in the local dining scene.

After a bright and cheerful facelift both inside and outside in the courtyard, the old Chuck’s Wagon location is now the official home of Hicks Seafood House of Apopka. Last Wednesday was the official ribbon cutting with the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce.

The grand opening marked an exciting addition to local dining. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by community leaders, residents, and food enthusiasts, celebrated the launch of this new culinary venture.

William Hicks, the owner and an Apopka native, has been in the food industry for 15 years and aims to please his customers and serve his community.

Hicks Seafood faces 441 downtown, but the city parking lot between 441 and 5th Street is the smart parking and entry option.

With seating inside and outside in the courtyard, great food, and delightful service, Hicks is sure to please! Stop by and get Hooked on Hicks!

And despite being open only a few days, Hicks already had a 4.8 rating from the Foodie website Yelp!

"We have been to Hicks Seafood House a couple of times," said Jackie R. of Apopka. "The food has been extremely delicious, the service exceptional, and the prices very reasonable for seafood. We will be going back soon!"

"Cute place with amazing fried shrimp," said Paige P. of Apopka. "The lightly breaded garlic shrimp was my favorite."

"It's great to have a good seafood restaurant in Apopka," said Nancy H. of Stone Harbor, NJ. "The service is fast and friendly. Amy was attentive and efficient. Most of the seafood is fried, but there are a few steamed options, which is good because the breading on the fried seafood is a little heavy. I love that they have conch. I also wish they offered some type of side salad to offset the heavy fried food. Everything was delicious, and the portions were huge. Hopefully, they will begin to offer more options that aren't fried. But we will definitely be back."

Hours of Operation:
Monday-Closed
Tuesday-Thursday 11am-9pm
Fri&Sat- 11am-10pm
Sun-11am-8pm

Congratulations - a new restaurant that is not fast food is always welcome in Apopka.

One comment was finally a seafood restaurant in Apopka. Well, the Nauti Lobstah has been open now for almost 3 years. They are located in the old Catfish Place location on 311 S Forest Ave. They have many delicious options and lots that are not “fried” as one comment said. They also have non seafood options - some of the best steaks and chicken. And great vegan options and desserts!
