HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is announcing the opening of a new freestanding emergency room in Apopka as part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s continued expansion across the state. HCA Florida Wekiva Emergency began serving patients on Tuesday morning. The nearly 11,000-square-foot facility in Orange County provides a full range of emergency medical services for children and adults.
“As the Apopka and surrounding communities expand, the need for 24/7 emergency care close to where people live and work is vital,” said John Gerhold, chief executive officer at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. “We are excited to establish a new healthcare location for all in need of emergency medical care.”
This state-of-the-art ER is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room that is housed within the walls of a hospital. Physicians and colleagues can treat a range of general emergency and specific conditions, including serious infections, chest pain and broken bones, and offer several diagnostic services on site.
