Say hello to Mira and Stillwaters.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Commissioner Christine Moore will attend the event. Demings will deliver remarks about the projects that support the Mayor’s “Housing for All” initiative, which prioritizes short and long-term solutions to address the affordable housing crisis.

“Orange County Government is proud to partner with Dominium to offer more senior affordable and workforce housing in the Apopka community,” Moore said.

Developed by Dominium, The Stillwaters will include 180 affordable units for seniors 62 and over, while The Mira will provide 300 affordable units for families.

Access to affordable housing remains a pressing issue in Orange County, where more than 40% of renter households are considered cost-burdened—spending over 30% of their income on housing, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. As the region’s population continues to grow by hundreds each week, the demand for affordable units far outpaces supply. Developments like The Mira and The Stillwaters contribute to narrowing that gap by adding 480 new units specifically for low-income seniors and working families. These types of projects support Orange County’s Housing for All initiative, which aims to create 30,000 affordable and attainable housing units by 2030.
