The Gators (52-19) posted the eighth sweep in the 15 years of the best-of-three finals format, and first since 2013.

Down 2-1 in the seventh, LSU had what would have been the tying run sent back to third base because of a runner interference call at second on a double-play ball.
In the eighth, the Tigers failed to push across a run after having runners on the corners with no outs.
It was the Gators first national championship in college baseball after qualifying for the College World Series Tournament 11 times. This gives UF championships in all three major sports - baseball, basketball, and football.
