The Foliage Garden Club of Apopka installed officers for 2023-2024 at the May Luncheon meeting. Gwen Carter, FFGC District VII Director (far left), officiated at the installation. New officers (left to right in the below photo) are President Pat D’Amico, First Vice Presidents Pamela Smith-Groseclose, and Leslie Dempsey (absent), Second Vice President Charlotte White, Treasurer Carol Johns, Corresponding Secretary Jeanne Gorman, and Recording Secretary Ann Mixson.
The goal of the FGCA is to promote the conservation of wildflowers, trees, and wildlife, work to better our community, and cooperate with other service clubs in community activities, especially those related to the beautification of our city of Apopka.
We observe Arbor Day with tree plantings; promote the aims and objectives of the Federation of Foliage Garden Clubs and contribute to garden club-related projects such as the Wekiva Youth Camp, Nature Conservancy, and others; and instruct and increase the knowledge of our members on horticulture, artistic floral design, and land preservation.
