Feed Hope by ordering holiday meals through Second Harvest’s Catering for Good

Posted

More than 2.2 million Floridians are at risk of going to bed hungry tonight. In Central Florida, that’s one in eight adults – and one in five children.

Right now, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is distributing enough food for 300,000 meals a day across its seven-county service area – and the organization relies on community collaboration to make this possible. There are many ways to support local hunger relief efforts, including hiring Catering for Good to cater the company holiday party, corporate lunch or family dinner.

At Thanksgiving, Catering for Good prepared 481 pounds of turkey, 120 pounds of garlic mashed potatoes and 165 pounds of stuffing to fulfill 50 holiday dinner orders. I have attached some photos to consider for online and/or social posting.

If a stress-free Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or New Year’s gathering is on your wish list: Second Harvest is still accepting catering orders. The deadline for placing an order is Wednesday (Dec. 14). You can browse the holiday menu at www.FeedHopeNow.org.

With the launch of its own catering company in 2013, Second Harvest established a sustainable revenue stream that takes 100% of the profits from each order to fund its Culinary Training Program. Contact Lanette Jarvis at 407-514-1048 or email ljarvis@feedhopenow.org to place an order.
