Fall fun meets Florida skies: Apopka’s weekend events with weather outlook

From charcuterie and cocktails to storytelling and concerts, Apopka has a full slate — here’s how the skies will behave

Apopka’s weekend promises a nice blend of creative, family, and musical events, but Mother Nature will also have a say. Fortunately, while showers are possible, the overall forecast offers a mix of sun, clouds, and warm autumn breezes.

The Hocus Pocus Mixology & Charcuterie Workshop will take place at the Creative Hub, 124 East Second Street, Apopka (32703), on Friday, October 10th, at 6:30 p.m.

The forecast calls for a high near 80°, clouds, and a 70% chance of storms, especially late afternoon into evening. Expect scattered showers or thunderstorms to develop, with northeast winds around 10–15 mph, gusting to 25 mph.

Saturday, October 11th, offers a warmer, more stable backdrop for daytime events. Temperatures are expected to reach around 80°, with a 40% chance of storms, particularly later in the day. Skies should swing between partly sunny and cloudy. Winds may increase to 15–20 mph in the afternoon.

That sets the scene nicely for Cookies & Milk with a Cop Storytime at 11 a.m., and later, the Heart & Soul Music Festival at Apopka Amphitheater starting at 4 p.m. Attendees should be ready for occasional clouds or sprinkles, but overall it looks serviceable for outdoor enjoyment.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday, the skies should clear further, and Sunday (October 12) is expected to have a much friendlier forecast: mostly sunny skies, with highs near 82 °F and lows in the mid-60s. A far more cooperative day for lingering on the lawn, exploring downtown, or catching late performances.

Otherwise, October in Apopka often brings warm days and mild nights. Average highs hover around 83 °F, with lows near 66 °F, and rainfall is less frequent as the month progresses.

I am looking at the Apopka Chief newspaper front cover, Oct. 10th, 2025, about the city hall anniversary celebration. I want to know more about the oval city emblem display on the stand to the right in the photo. Who made it? It is very nice. Is that a hooked rug, or is it filled in with flowers or another medium? I have never seen it before. I really like it, but can't tell what it is made of. Anyone know?
