Everything coming to HBO/MAX in August

HBO Max kicks off August with one of the most anticipated drops of the summer: Peacemaker Season 2, set within James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe, arrives on August 21, expanding the storyline after Superman while promising action, humor, and familiar faces including Danielle Brooks, Frank Grillo, and Nathan Fillion.

Earlier in the month, the powerful HBO Original docuseries The Yogurt Shop Murders premieres on August 3. This four‑part investigative series revisits the chilling 1991 Texas crime, combining archival footage, interviews with victims’ families, investigators, and journalists in a sensitive yet immersive presentation.

Other highlights include the horror reboot Final Destination: Bloodlines, streaming August 1—already making waves as one of the year’s most emotional and compelling entries in the franchise. The month also rolls out fresh original and returning series: Abbott Elementary Season 4 on August 23, The Cleaning Lady Season 4, and Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills beginning August 5.

Adding variety are new originals like Chef Grudge Match, Iyanu, and Hop, and insightful documentaries from The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper. The streamer also premieres Marc Maron: Panicked, a comedy special from the veteran stand‑up, alongside a roster of library movies and nostalgic films added August 1.

August 2025 brings one of HBO Max’s most diverse and ambitious content slates—from high‑octane DC superhero action and gripping documentaries to original comedies and fan‑favorite series returns.
